Can anyone help with a sustainability policy for fuel usage?
I haven’t a clue what one is, but as with all things if no one else can do it give it to elf an’ safety to sort out.
All info gratefully received.

Bob, I see your problem.
Unless your fleet is running on 100% Biodiesel, I don't see how you can have a sustainability policy on fuel consumption.
By definition, using fossil fuels is unsustainable (limited supply and all that)!
You could however make the following suggestions:
Use alternative, more effiecient, modes of transport (train or company mopeds anyone?).
Vehicle sharing as standard policy.
More efficient company cars (Prius as standard... if your fleet manager can get hold of 'em!)
Where possible, use biofuel mixes of fuel ( but currently not available in many areas).
Company to join a Carbon neutral scheme and pay for trees to be planted to offset emissions.
Avoid travelling at all if possible - use video conferencing in preference.
The problem is, that all the above leave some sort of carbon footprint, the trick is to choose those options with the smallest impact.
PS - I'm just throwing out random ideas here in no particular order, good luck!

Bob,
Just an additional thought, when you say fuel usage, do you mean vehicles in particular, or energy in general?
If energy in general, have you considered solar panels or wind turbines on your premises as a future aim in your policy?
Or purchasing electricity from a wind farm (opens up the tricky area of how many tons of CO2 is a scenic view worth though)?
Also, have you checked out the Envirowise website yet?
