Has anyone seen or does anyone know of a bicycle use for work purposes policy.
I presume The Met or the Royal Post are likely to have something in place.
I'd appreciate any leads.
Best wishes

biggest problem that I have re using cycles for work purposes is finding a trainer; as the police/post service etc who use cycles for work do not offer [that I know of] wok related training to outside organisations nor have I found a trainer that does - providers re schools do not offer work related training
Note: Road traffic accidents re cycles usually result in more severe loss

You could try contacting your Local Authority Road Safety Team as they usually have a road safety officer who deals with cycling.
Procedures do exist re cycling at work but bear in mind PUWER requirements (Stark vs Post Office).

Where some of our workers wanted to use bikes to get around and cover more ground we found a cycling proficiency test for adults!!!
They were a bit resistant at first but apparently it was very good and aimed at adults.
I will try and find out some contact details and post them later if i can
cheers

Just go straight to the experts, the CTC.
See: http://www.ctc.org.uk/
For cycle safety training, my friend Greg Woodford is probably the national expert on this subject.

Years ago I used to assist running a series of Saturday morning cycle training sessions for kids, I seem to remember this was RoSPA based. They may still have something similar or be able to point you in the right direction if not.
