Posted By Kim Sunley Hi Didn't do a JAQ myself. Go back to an old thread for ideas on bands http://www.iosh.co.uk/in...iew&forum=1&thread=17013 I've heard of bands as low as 3 and as high as 8b (the latter being a manager of a large safety/risk department) but most Health and Safety Adviser/Officer jobs seem to be advertised as a 6.

Posted By J Knight Not an NHS employee as such; but as a slight aside for anybody who is in the NHS or associated organisations; KSF for occupational therapist asks for H&S at Level 1, the KSF for an NHS chaplain requires H&S at Level 2. I don't understand, John

Posted By Bill Elliott Nigel, I wouldn't have thought it would be lower than Level 5 (expertise within a specialism) and may possibly be 6,7,or 8 depending on the individual and any other relevant qualifications, training and/or experience. A lot will also depend from what angle you are approaching this, if this is for your JAQ, then I would respectfully suggest you are working at it the wrong way round. you should not be looking at the result and making your training /experience etc fit - it should be worked the other way round. If you are trying to establish a KSF for a post - then for a H&S professional this would be level 4 - core competencies plus add ons. Hope that makes sense
