Does anyone else have trouble with this web site?:
http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/
It doesn't matter what day or time of the day I try to access it, it either doesn't load, or takes so long that it renders its use almost impossible, certainly impracticable. I have just tried to access it again to no avail, and had similar trouble a few months back. Am I doing something wrong, or is it the site?
Stephen.

Just did a cut and paste of the e-address and it worked first time.
Have you tried pasting the address into the Google search, locate the site then try your link again.
Good luck

Aha !
You must be an aol user....
Connect to inet, minimise the browser and then bring-up internet explorer or firefox and paste to that.

It is a very large and complex web site. Rumour has it that EA employees use Google to navigate their way around it.

Quite true, but then so do other companies employees...and I use it to plough through my pc as well.
As for the EA....did you know they are the single largest customer for land rover.
Bigger than the army !
And are also [probably] the most ineffective and costly ?

Coincidentally just 'phoned the EA helpline this morning to request a discharge certificate. The bod at the other end tried to navigate the site on his PC 'as it is available online on the website'. He gave up after a few minutes as it was taking forever and is posting one out instead!

It seems to load OK when I quit out of Zone Alarm, so I'm going to try to find out if there is a setting in ZA that I can change to prevent this. Funny though that it is the ONLY web site I have trouble with.

I actually wrote to the EA about their site and the poor download speeds and was told it must be my server that was at fault.
When I responded by informing them that I was on the Super JANET (Joint Academic Network) which is a high speed link between the UK universities they did not respond.
The site is one of the most difficult to navigate and if you bookmark a page after having found it invariably the next time you find the URL has changed.
Perhaps one day the EA might just listen to its customers as I know a number of my colleagues have been in contact with them as well over the same issues.

I know the site was down last week as I was trying to re-register as producer of waste.
This morning, in first time, no hold-ups etc.
On the other hand, since I work for the MOD maybe I have a direct line in...
