Following on from the death of a BT engineer who was working on a telegraph pole sited on a bend when it was hit by a van on a stretch of road with over 70 accidents in the last three years, does anyone know of a source of information on Accident Blackspots throughout the UK. Ideally this source would include B and C roads as well as major roads and motorways and show the number of accidents in the last three years (say).
This would be a useful tool for designers and clients in deciding where to site roadside 'street furniture' such as telecoms poles etc.
Many thanks

RTC statistics for accident hotspots are collated by the county council or unitary authorties road safety departments, these will be available by locations, I do not think that the DfT keep details down to that level.
I do know that Gloucestershire Road safety department have produced a map showing the hotspots.
