Posted By Ian Waldram Have a look at the various Buncefield reports on the HSE website. Bund construction is rather a hot topic in UK at present, because several bunds failed in this big fire earlier this year. One of the interim reports talks about bund construction in some detail, has photos of the failures and (from memory) refers to the design standards.

Posted By Pierre de Carteret The IP Codes will usually cover the requirements for this topic - can't remember the internet address but usually comes up easily. The contractor should already know what standard they should contruct to if you're specific about what substance(s) and how you wish to run the complex. Local authority are usually quite useful (if you're not in a rush). Is it a new build requiring Haz Consent etc? EA can sometimes be useful to consult with as they have people with practical knowledge of storage tanks etc.
