Posted By GJB I am based in Essex. Has anyone any idea when the next social meeting is and where it will be, ideally, not a million miles from where I am based? Answers on a Post Card please!

Posted By Jane Blunt You need to keep an eye on the following address: http://www.iosheastanglia.co.uk/ There is an active Anglia South District that organises meetings in Essex. The 2005-6 calendar is now finished, but the 2006-7 calendar is almost ready for publication. There are also meetings all over East Anglia, where we do try to stay fairly close to the A11/M11/A14 corridors to make travel easier. Jane (Newsletter editor for the East Anglian Branch)

Posted By GJB Thanks for that Jane, the web address is now in my favourites! I'll be checking for updates regularly! (Still like the idea of a Jolly Boys outing to Saa'fend, though)... No offence!

Posted By bec_batty Hello SAF! Chelmsford is great thanks, if not slightly grey and damp at the moment. Any idea when this shindig could take place? I'd need to pencil it in my diary asap!

Posted By SAF Hi Bec Happy to meet in Chelmsford, used to have lots of good gathering places. 'The' bar springs to mind, opposite the cinema. What does everyone else think?

Posted By GJB I think it burnt down?!! Obviously a very poor Fire Risk Assessment in place! Plenty of other good bars in Chelmsford though. I think The lovely Bec, should be made 'monitor' and 'chief organiser'?!! What do you think Bec? Any chance of providing some entertainment? We could always go to a caberet night??

Posted By CRN Baker I seem to remember it did burn down, although it has been rebuilt / renovated since. Having said that, somewhere else might be better but I agree with SAF about Dukes. That would break my lifetime achievement for avoiding it!!!

Posted By GJB SAF, We'd have to meet at 'The Rendevouz' first though... it's just tradition! I fear I could only get in on 'G-a-G' night now however!... Oh to be young again!

Posted By bec_batty I think GJB would like to organise this as it was his idea! 'The' Bar is still there and is full of young and trendy people on the weekends... I'm a regular!!! I know you can have an area roped off in there too but at the moment there only seems to be 4 of us...

Posted By CRN Baker Referring back to my previous post... always ready for a challenge, isn't that why we do this job?? No such thing as a G-a-G night is there? Middle age officially ends at 66 or so nowadays or so they tell us!! :-)

Posted By GJB Bec, Behave yourself... You're far to aged to be appearing at Dukes! In your condition as well... I ask you! Well if not, Bec, how about a Booze Cruise in the Thames... Southend?
