Hi,
I'm looking for data/statistics/information/articles etc. on 1) the effectiveness of convex or domed mirrors in the blind corners/hallways etc. in the prevention of pedestrial collisions, and 2) Any information on alternative products/technology to avoid pedestrian to pedestrian or pedestrian to vehicle collisions on blind corners. Has anyone come across this kind of information?

Pedestrian / vehicle collisions should be prevent by segregation where possible.
Convex mirrors are often seen on blind corners on road / drive/lane junctions to prevent vehicle vehicle collisions.
Could they be used to prevent pedestrian pedestrian colisions, possibly, but but would be the point? Ok minimilisation of risk as far as possible but only so far as reasonably practical without incuring excessive costs.
Unless there is more to this, ie. someone recently had an accident, your staff regular walk round with lots of hot coffee or jars of fragile chemicals etc...?

No stats, sorry ... but what about a 'keep left' policy and floor markings / colouring to emphasise it?
Mirrors are very useful but only if you happen to be looking at them.

Thanks to the couple who responsed to my note re: convex mirrors. Someone asked "why would people use them for pedestrian to pedestrian" prevention of collisions and in fact that's the key reason many people in offices use them...but of course as also mention, traffic to pedestrian is more common. Stats are available in US and UK but NOT broken out so specifically. They're categorized under "struck by moving, including flying/falling object."
What I'm looking for is information on whether or not they "do" prevent such collisions and numbers related to that, and alternative methods of prevention..... Thanks all.

I am unable to answer your question, but know a man who possibly could, Ihelped a chap in the HSE Jim Corbridge, condcut a trial on convex mirrors on All terrain FLT Telehandelers on construction sites. He works from Manchester, this was three or so years ago so he may have moved on? He was a specialist at what he did, what I picked up which may help you is that if mirrors where positioned correctly they where very effective, but only if all on the site where wearing high visibility clothing. This was very improtant I was actually very surpried at how effective the mirror is, we actuall acheived 360 degrees vision with little blind spot and you could actually see all four wheel stations if postioned correctly.
The slightest movement in High vis was easliy spotted by the operator.
