Posted By Paul E Reynolds does anyone have a short presentation that can be used to provide some basic training for a reversing assistant, as we have an issue with this, but only have a delivery once a week. Regards Paul

Posted By pedro Paul, I recently had a similar situaton where our receipt and despatch people used to watch our deliveries on artics back into the bays. However it was decided that they did not have the time to do this so the management put it onto our yard and security men. However it turned out that if we were going to use 'banksmen' then they must be trained. so if you are going to use them rather than say guiderails, guidelines, red/green lights etc then you must have them trained by a competent person in the correct methods of bankmanship. I would use ask.com and put in banksmen training for your area and see what comes up. regards Pedro

Posted By Tony Bish May be worth looking at the HSE waste management area -see link below -a recent publication on street safety for refuse and recycling vehicles which deals with the problems of reversing. It gives a lot of detail in words, drawings and pictures, on the use of reversing asssistants. www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/web14.pdf
