Posted By JEB I am trying to find out if there is a standard/specification of what as-built drawings should be for inclusion in a H&S File. The only reference I have found so far is in the CDM ACOP hsg 224 Appendix 4.

Posted By Jason Holmes I work in the utilities industry. Our As built draings are usually a general layout drawing, any detailed drawings deemed necessary. We do not include long sections. I think it can depend on the client.

Keep the information in the H&S File (including as-built drawings) to what will be relevant to ensure the safety of anyone who will operate, maintain or demolish the structure/ building in the future.
CDM is about integrating H&S into Project Management; therefore any H&S related paperwork should contribute to the competent management of the project throughout its whole life. When compiling your H&S file as yourself; will this piece of information produce a H&S benefit? If you are convinced that it will then its in, otherwise...
Best wishes
Ciaran

Posted By JEB Just to clarify my request I know I need to include as built drawings in the file, what I need to know is is there a specification as to what should be included on the drawing.

Posted By Advanced Safety I generally request any details that have changed from the construction drawings, as these can be provided by the Designer and service layouts, e.g. service routes, stopcocks, etc, but this can differ from job tojob and from client to client.

Posted By kenobe As built drawings should also be stamped with 'as built' on them, or come with an accompanying 'as built' schedule. Too many times contractors/architects will provide copies of older drawings which are not as built.
