Posted By lewes Im looking for either websites or actual photos of accidents or near misses.
I know some people say the shock factor doesnt work but it does with some of our guys as they normally adopt the principle of "it aint going to happen to me" and im trying to educate them that these things do happen.
Subject matters are really HEAD, FEET and HAND Injuries or anything else available really.
I have done a search on the matter and has brought up some situation photo's but sadly very limited gore or personal injury.
Thanks in advance for any input.

Posted By Crim Hi Lewes,
I may be able to help if you can email me, is that possible without me giving my e address to everyone?
I do have some photo's of actual injuries but will have to find them first.

Posted By MetalMan Hello there, if you have a look at some of the web sites where people post their own material i.e photos and videos you will find accident and injury material. Be warned though that a lot of the material is very graphic and disturbing and you may see things that you don't want to.

Posted By Jason911 I don't agree with these kind of images. What if someone was to be traumatised my the pictures.
I mean if you get a bunch of hairy warehouse workers together and even warn them they don't have to look, they all will because they won't want to appear squeemish infront of the others.
And thats just the women!

Posted By lewes Jason911....
I appreciate that some of the photos maybe graphic and I will only display ones I think are suitable and will get the message across.
I agree that some photo's are not suitable for an office environment but when dealing with commercial motor vehicle technicians or fabricators in a very male dominated industry some photos will actuall promote the need for eye, hand or foot protection in my opinion.

Posted By Jason911 O.k fair enough, just be careful is all.
I was just remembering a instance of a photo processing lab employee claiming they had been affected by some unsavoury photo's they developed in the course of their employment.

Posted By Ruth Hi,
I've always found that a photo which sticks is better - for instance when talking about the risk of contruction and the CDM changes proposed - I finished by saying that it was important to make sure that the you were propared for the unexpected and showed a sequence of photos of an American(?) construction site where a man was seen removing an alligator. It has stuck and the idea of assessment as a technique which is learned and then applied and not a set of written instructions seems to have stuck !

Posted By Tony Carr Try www.accident-awareness.co.ukIt’s not of heads, hands or wrists but of a nasty injury from an accident the guy had at work. Some good pics which are not shocking enough to traumatize people but his story gets the message home. I don’t think he minds you showing them but you might want to check with him first. Tony

Posted By lewes Thanks for that.
The person 'Frank' who had the accident has alredy replied to this thread and ive had a couple emails with him.
Unfortunately owing to IOSH terms he was unable to promote this himself.
Please all feel free to view it as he is soon to commence promoting this full time.
