A long shot but I'm currently developing a format for checking that haulage drivers are using safe systems of work during random visits at their delivery/drop off points and wondered if anyone else has done the same. Happy to exchange ideas.

My Boss uses a method where he sits at one of the delivery points armed with a camcorder recording every move the driver makes. Then when driver returns to the depot he plays back the recording and scrutinises every detail of the driver’s actions. This can sometimes take 3 hours to complete needless to say that the driver does not get paid for this time and it is always done at the end of the working day.

No one aide memoire is going to assist you here I'm afraid. Unlike the earlier post I would suggest the driver is questioned on what he is doing at the time. With the introduction of the EU's RTD on working hours I don't know any haulage operator who could tolerate having a driver sat around on a 'debrief.'
Very few transport operations can claim to have SSoW that cover everything they do although there is a lot of generic activities that a driver would do.
If you have a matrix of the operations your hauliers do whilst tipping (FLT/MHE, hand balling, roping and sheeting etc) you can then start to amass some kind of an aide. You also don't mention if they're your drivers (own/contractors) or subbies etc?
