As part of my new role i have been tasked to come up with a policy for H&S Training- this came about as i identified there is not currently one in place here! Therefore it has now landed in my lap. Writing a policy is very new to me (this being my first!) - Is there any advice/guidance or an example template of what should be included and its structure
thanks in advance.

I suggest you look at other H&S policies in your organisation for layout and also talk to your HR/training people to ensure it mirrors any general training policy. Alternatively you could suggest it forms a part of the training policy, which would then make it more embedded rather than 'bolt on'.

Thank you for your response Mrs Seed, i have looked at that side of things. we are a small/medium business and the HR/Training department is almost non-existant. The current policies are dated and unstructured. I take your point about not making this a bolt on. Just need some idea as to how to start this project.

Louise,

Have a look at http://www.web-safety.com/freesm/

On safety management procedures you should get a start.

Good luck
