Posted By Chris Gosney Dear members, I have been asked to deliver a short presentation on risk assessments and method statements at the company’s annual site manager’s conference using the company’s process procedures to highlight practical measures in complying with procedure requirements. I would like to be able to reference examples and if possible show pictures of some high profile accidents where risk assessments have either not been followed or have not adequately assessed the risk. My objective is to make the presentation as simple as possible as the managers are German and I am conscious of the communication barrier. I also know from experience that the greater the use of actual accidents the greater the impact. Does anybody know of any good websites, sources, where I can get some good information to include in my presentation. I wanted to show the famous early 1900s photograph of New York steel erectors taking a break hundreds of feet up in the air without fall protection to highlight how far we have come in managing health and safety but cannot find it anywhere. Any advice, ideas are greatly appreciated and many thanks in advance if you can help. Chris

Posted By Darren J Fraser The building from the 1930's photo is the Rockerfella Centre in New York, the gentlemen in question are Mohawk Indians, I believe. A google may be useful. May like to look at Hatfield, Buncefield, Alpha Piper, Flixborough etc.
