Posted By Austin. U Hi All, Kindly inform me on the agency or website to confirm competent scaffolders.we have just got a scaffolder to inspect our scaffolds weekly and he claims to be certified.How do I confirm his certifications and which is the required certification? Many Thanks, A.U.

Posted By Catman Hi Austin I strongly suggest as follows, - Buy CITB GE700, also have a look on the CITB website - Have a look at the CSCS website, your scaffolder should have attained a scaffolders card which helps to show competence - Check up on any training certification you are shown by scaffolders as there have been some training providers not following the full curriculum requirement for scaffolders (take the cert copy and phone CITB) Cheers TW

Posted By Ian Mitchell Hi Austin. How are you getting on in my old job!? Hope you are settling in... Manic in my new position (all over the country, 7am starts etc but enjoying it!) he should hold a CISRS card, or they may find themselves having to prove competence in some other way. The way construction is set up, non-CITB affiliated competence is barely recognised (rightly or wrongly). The company should ask to see it before he even starts and make a photocopy for the office records. (They Keep them in the top drawer in the cabinet next to Ranjana's desk!). Cheers Ian
