Posted By jeffrey david smith It's almost Friday so here goes... Currently kicking around this office we are dicussing Patron Saints (after finding that there is a movement to remove good ol' St George) and found we didn't know the one for Health and Safety. Does anyone know or anyone come up with a suggestion? Regards

Posted By Merv Newman St Emillion, St Moret, St Tropez all good for me. I'll even go for nuits St George. However I'll plump for Ste Barbara. Whenever I go to a mining site and see the helicopter pad and, facing it, a statue of Ste Barbara it brings a lump to the throat. Don't know why, I'm Baptist. Or at least my father was. Mind you, I often give thanks to the sainted Delia. I've plumped because of her more than once. Merv

Posted By Merv Newman St Trinians it's gotta be. I remember those films. Terry Thomas as the coach driver. Alistair Sim in drag as the Head mistress ! Arthur English as the spiv. Magnificent. "Open the cage !" The little girl pounding TNT in her pestle and mortar. Oh yes, I remember it well ! And the lacrosse match with with, with with watsername as referee. Julie Grenfelle as referee (charles, don't do that !) Beautiful. And not the least intimation of sexuality between pupils and teachers. Those were the days my friends. Despite the influence of scout and choir masters. (inclusive but not exlusive) Sainte Triniane Merv (or, if you wish, vote for me) Saint Merv)

Posted By Ken Taylor For the superstitious, I suspect that the official answer is St. Christopher. (Contra pericules nos eripe - or something like that from my school Latin). But I'm a bit of a non-conformist too, Merv and you will appreciate the doctrine of the universal sainthood of all true believers (eg health and safety practitioners?).
