Posted By Andrew Cartridge I wondered what my fellow members thought about todays event?, for those who wonder what I am talking about,it was "a re-enacted court room drama led by Barrister, Barry Cotter QC which gave an insight into the workings of a high court when prosecuting a gross negligance case. Personally, I thought that it was a worthwhile day, which showed us all the other side of the law, & also proved that judges & barristers do have a sense of humour. Discuss Andy

Posted By Merv Newman Sorry Andy but I missed that entirely. Didn't even know that there was a FDH sig. How much are the subs ? And of course lawyers have a sense of humour. Laughing all the way to the bank. Just like consultants. Merv

Posted By Diane Thomason Andy I thought it was excellent. They must have worked hard to prepare it and it was really well done. Very enlightening too to hear what the strategies of the prosecution and defence would be. I thought it was clever to put in the anomaly between the defendant's account of events and the "safety manager's" account. i.e. "he didn't tell me there was a problem with this" vs. "I told him there was a problem with this" - both quite emphatic. What's a jury to believe? Organisers, both SG and the legal team, please take this as a public thank you!
