As per ADR regs, every 2.5 years the external condition and connected equipments and a thorough check every 5 years once. My question is, will it be acceptable by HSE, if one does the routine check ( i.e every 2.5 years once) locally using in house maintenance engineers and 5 years inspection using external contractors (Or) will it always be tested using specialist. However our customer who receives liquid product from us using IBC's for transportation feels it is illegal to do own inspection and needs to undergo formal inspection and to get a certificate of conformity. But we want to challenge them in this regard. Obviously, we have engineers , who are competent enough to do IBC's inspection( afterall IBC's are not that critical equipment when compare to pressure vessel, chemical plants etc..). Do you think, they are reasonable? Regards, Baski
