Posted By Dave Wilson Try vaseline or silicone gel where they are roosting as it make rhe area seem unsafe for them to land on. Try a stuffed bird of prey as it works for a limited time.

Posted By Descarte I had a similar issue and have also mentioned and discussed this on the forums a few months ago. Spikes and netting depending on size can cost easily upwards of thousands of pounds if this is a temporary issue they may not be cost effective. When you say large refurb job, is this an external site or are the pidgeons gaining access somehow, could you net or close off the access? Depending on the location you could use sound or visual warnings to remove them (as farmers do) but if your in a residential area I doubt your neighbours would like gas guns firing in the evening and night. Also what is the time frame you are likely to be encountering this problem, days weeks months? The solution we found on this site was a 3 monthly "cull" by an approved and liscensed marksman/pest control operator. In the Aberdeen area alone I was suprised to find 15-20 companies offering this service
