Posted By jeffrey david smith A question from a colleague of mine who never goes to parties but has heard rumours... Who is liable if someone has an accident at a party not on the firms premises but is there as part of the firm's party? I know it is Friday, sensible answers please! Jeff

Posted By Glyn Phillips "Who is liable?" The answer to that question will be dependant on the circumstances surrounding each case. If the question was ' can the employer be liable?' the answer is yes. The link below has some good ideas to mitigate the risk of accidents and subsequent personal injury claims. Other sites are available. http://www.bytestart.co....s-party-guidelines.shtml

Posted By Ashley Williams The last reposndant was spot on. I know of one large Insurance Company who had an accident on their annual sports day. They had risk assessed everything but presumed they would be outside. Sadly on the day it rained and they decided to move things in doors and a family member was injured and broke their neck. Massive claim and they now even risk assess going to the pub. Ash
