Posted By Rob T Hi Joe, A mate of mine worked there for a few months and found it to be one of the most horrible countries he'd ever encountered. It's a dictatorship with a megalomaniac ruling the roost and any opposition to his rule is treated with torture and death. There is extreme poverty and the streets can be dangerous. The police are corrupt and are likely to to stop you for no apparent reason. don't go out alone even during daylight. It's extremely humid and every damn creature that can bite you will (although that's not much different from most of West Africa). Good luck.
