Do you have access to the CITB safety book?
Look in there!

Yes I am in safety working for a global company and I am snowed under with work and was just hoping that a fellow H&S professional could help me out in a busy period.

Can you have a risk assessment for a tool? Surely the risk is associated with the task. One of the risk factors being using the wrong tool!
Or do you want a blank risk assessment that can be filled in for a specific task, that includes relevant prompts to cover hazards of using a hand tool? In this case I would suggest the hazards to consider include:
1. Noise
2. Dust (i.e. inhalation)
3. Flying particles (i.e eye injury)
4. Sharp tool (e.g. drill bit/saw blade)
5. Rotating parts (i.e. trapping hair/clothes)
6. High energy release (power stapler)
7. Electricity
8. Ignition source
You also need to consider what damage the tool can do
1. Damage to buried services (power, gas, water)
2. Structural damage to building
Does this help?

Hi rks,
if you were to be more specific members might be able to point you in the right direction. Name the exact tools that you refer to.
