Posted By rjhills If you are a company H&S Manager. STOP THE JOB! Check if they have a. FLT maintenance cert. b Driver license (pref. passport). c. Method statement for task. d.Is his supervisor qualified. d. Have you seen all their paperwork? e Is the job under CDM? (There are more). If you have a contractor approved list, take action to remove the offending co. Report to your appropriate "head honcho", and INSIST that action is taken!! Also ensure that the contractors MD is made aware. If all this fails, suggest you find alternative co. where efforts are appreciated. I had a fairly similar case inc contractors some time ago, and took the step of stopping the job until the offenders were removed from site. (with emails to MD level.) It worked, but I was unpopular for a while. Don`t stand for cowboys. They can kill!!
