Anyone else come across barriers blown over or down by the recent winds ? This week I came across barriers that had blown down into the pit itself. They were the red / white plastic type. Our company also operate such systems. Does anyone know of a more robust system that can stand up to the wind ? Otherwise, it doesn't do much for "preventing unauthorised access".

Oh dear. Problems with the wind! Try Rennee or Tums, they are very effective and still create a safe barrier.

I think some of the problem comes from how they are used.
If they are well-fitting, and in a closed shape (four sides joined rather than three sides and one open side) even the plastic barriers should resist strong winds.
Often though the joints are loose and the shape is stretched.
Ballast in the cones helps too if you are stuck with them until a better solution is available.

Sorry, forgot to say - they can't really be used for preventing access, can they?
They do provide excellent warning though.

Thanks for the advice. Yes, they are for warning, though the fencing has been known to keel over too !

How about barrier tape.... cheap and cheerful and won't blow down if attached to strongish posts.
