Hi all
I am currently reviewing my companies health and safety policy and have become unstuck. Has the Control of Asbestos at Work regs changed from 2002 to 2006 or not

Not yet.
It's likely that they'll come into force on the 13th of November but not definite.

The regs are availble on the HMSO web site so the 13th November is the magic date as best we know.

Hi Jack, yes they have.
although reg 20 (4) will not commence until 06.04.07, which is the person you employ to carry out the air testing and issue the site clearance certifecate.
After this date the employer will have to ensure that the employed person/ contractor is accredited by UKAS.
(this will obviously make any work very much more expensive)

Or similar such as NIACS or ABICS for individual asbestos surveyors (UKAS for companies etc)
