Posted By cara Did anyone watch Traffic Cops last night (BBC1 I think). Girl died when hit by lorry - driver was on mobile phone. The program was really upsetting - when will people get it into their heads how dangerous driving when using a mobile is even for a few seconds!!!

Posted By C Kent The girl was terminally ill previously so some may say it was a mercy killing, but as they said on the show, that has to be proved. Still very sad for the family left grieving.

Posted By cara That's not the point anyway - the driver hadn't noticed the que of traffic ahead as he was messing with his phone!!! He didn't even brake!

Posted By RBW That posting about it being a mercy killing was incorrect. The girl was fit and healthy. Where did they get that information from? The phone use caused her death.

Posted By RBW Cara, Seems like it was a sick joke from the same person who seems to be trying to throw this forum into chaos (I am sure most people know who is really behind their name). There are a few very useful threads on this forum about mobile phone use when driving. Try searching and if you are still struggling let me know. I keep copies of all the useful forums in word format.

Posted By RBW Disgusting for taking a persons life. If it was done any other way it would have been life. Using a lorry as a weapon is just the same in my opinion, items need to be used responsibly, including vehicles.

Posted By RBW Cara, are you interested in trying to put together a "no phones" policy? Maybe we could pick each others brains if you are able to email me. Unfortunately I cannot email you first as your address is hidden. Thanks

Posted By Phil D The most shocking campaign I have ever seen was released by Shell in Germany. It is a photo story book. the girl was driving whilst using her phone. The picture of how the car ended up when she ploughed into the back of the lorry is horrific. Then you see she had a bunch of flowers beside her. The intended recipient will never be known. Very sad, and if something like that doesn't drive the message home, nothing ever will.

Posted By cara That doesn't really fit in with my job - but will certainly offer any opinions I can! I just watched the program last night and thought I would see if anyone else did, as it was so upsetting and would really make people think twice about using their phones when driving!! email me at carawils@hotmail.com - home email so won't get till I get home tho!!
