Posted By Natalie Crawford Following a recent visit to one of our offices by an EHO we have been asked to complete an OSR1 under OSRA. I had previously queried this with a different local authority and was told this was no longer a requirement. Is anyone able to clarify this point. Regards Natalie

Posted By Raymond Rapp I believe I am correct in saying the Factories Act 1961, has not be repealed either. Ray

Posted By Ken Taylor So how did the EHO know that you had an office if you hadn't submitted an OSR1 form? I didn't think that anyone was now bothering with these. Regarding the Factories Act, a couple of forms are still 'official' the F10 probably being the most useful.

Posted By Saracen11 Hi Natalie, OSR1 forms are still in place. Failure to complete one could be seen as obstruction of an Inspector. So it's not a good idea to ignore the request to complete one, as required. Some Authorities are more strict in this area than others, yours might be one of these? Regards

Posted By Martin Taylor This is the first that I have seen of this form. We have a central office within a factory environment - should this be registered? Martin

Posted By MT The OSR1 is certainly still in use within the LA I work for. We send it out to new businesses and set up their record on our software based on the information they provide.

Posted By Paul Leadbetter Martin Your office ought to be covered by the F9 submission, if your employer made one when they occupied the factory. Paul

Posted By Natalie Crawford Thank you to everyone who responded. Just to let you know the Local Authority have now said they have found an OSR1 submitted for the office some 5 years ago (before my time) and apologised for requesting a further one. Regards Natalie

Posted By Ken Taylor I wonder whether this is indicative of what they do with OSR1 forms when they get them.

Posted By Ian P We have offices across different LA regions of Scotland but I send all of ours to the one where our HO is. Presumably they send them on to other LAs.
