Hi
Does anybody have any info on tungsten tip grinding, my lads are concerned about the amount of thorium they could be exposed to. On average they grind for a maximum total of 20 mins per day (not all at one go) I have tried getting them to use the gold tips but say they prefer to use the red tips as you get a better weld result. The grinder we have at present is not enclosed however the weld shop is a very small area of the business and my employer is loathe to spend a vast amount on an enclosed tip grinder if the exposure levels are negligible. I have tried looking in EH40 but cannot see anything that refers specifically to grinding dust from tungsten tips.
Any help gratefully received!
