Means that for some specs users their usual glasses not suitable for VDU work. One optician doing presentation to IOSH West of Scotland Branch estimated that in total about 10% of VDU users need specs specifically for this work. Of these roughly half and half do or don't need specs for other reasons. Regards, Peter

My own intuitive feel (based on literally hundreds of DSE assessments but without thoroughly checking the figures so scientifically flawed) is that less than 1% need glasses purely for DSE/VDU work. To me the requirement for employers to provide spectacles is misplaced legislation, similar to the mobile phone fiasco ie a complete waste of time and effort.
