You've hit the nail on the head, its about the fitting, training and guidance around usage, not the units themselves.
The original question, sat-nav's good or bad, is moot....

Of course the original question, sat-nav's good or bad, is moot.... Isn't that why we are discussing it now? I always took 'moot' to pertain to something which requires further clarification, or needs a decision making regarding it.
Having said that, as you well know I am a very simple man. Therefore I could be (nay probably am) wrong.
