Hi All
Does anybody else out there get a little annoyed when they receive correspondence from Institutes only to find that they do not recognise the actual qualification that allows them membership, e.g. Dip2OSH.

I can understand the Institutes not recognising the others, e.g. MIIRSM,TechIOSH, GradIOSH etc because of competition, but how about recogising the bit that took me years of grief, heartache and several thousand pounds to achieve?

I feel better already for saying that

Ray

Not sure I fully understand where you're coming from. Care to clarify?

Sure Ron
whenever I get a letter from IOSH it it has my designatory letters GradIOSH, no mention of MIIRSM or Dip2OSH, I can understand the omission of MIIRSM but why omit Dip2OSH, it is the same if I get any letters from IIRSM.
The designatory letters have been earned, why should they not be recognised by all.

Hi Ray,

Personally I don't see a problem - there are many routes to the various membership levels and I don't think IOSH would necessarily have knowledge of each individual's qualifications... Also, how would they know if you had recently resigned from IIRSM?

Surely it's the membership grade that is most important?

Aha
A valid point, and one I should have considered.

Many Thanks for putting me straight

If you want to use all of the post nominals you are entitled to, surely it's just an administration issue with the other end of the loop to advise them accordingly.
