Is there an exemption from load testing for wooden beams that have been used as a lifting beam for a certain number of years?

If so can anyone provide details?

All help gratefully received.

I would have thought you would need to get a survey done by a structural engineer and calculations supplied to confirm. It would then need regular inspections due to the fact it is more susceptible to infestation and weather conditions.

The rule without exception is: "If it hasn't got a current test certificate, don't use it", applicable to any type of lifting equipment. Or if it can't be tested ditto!!
