I guess linked to recent developments, BA etc, but my organisation wants to develop a dress code. I would welcome any ideas from anyone who has such a code preferably from a health/social care viewpoint, though it will include others including maintenance workers etc. Regards

Hi Bill,

We have a dress code in our Healthcare Staff Handbook, and though it is fairly limited it does stipulate controls on footwear, jewellery and so on. Kitchen workers are covered by our general safety for kitchen workers document, though this is again mainly concerned with footwear. One of the limits on our guidance for care staff is that we have uniforms, so the bulk of what our workers wear is provided for them, hence the dress code concentrating on what might be called accessories.

Similarly, maintenance workers are provided with T-shirts, fleeces and so on as well as PPE, so we have little need for a dress code as such, while kitchne workers are also provided with tops and necessary PPE,

Its only office based slobs like me who can wear what they like,

John
