Posted By CHSS Mick Hi all
Hope you can help me out here as I am just wondering if you have or seen a method statement done for the different stages in roof work for a standard two story semi-detached residential houses.
The roofing contractor is to provide the method statement and I am awaiting this but I would appreciate any help in line with the comparison of what is acceptable in compliance with WAH regulations and roof work code of practice.
Is there a standard method used where working platforms can be used from the inside of the houses and where there is not a need for fall protection (i.e. nets / bean bags)???
The current process is the scaffolding erected from the outside so the outside working platform is sorted. Its the inside ope and working platforms that I am concerned with about what is now appropriate and acceptable. What are the methods being used from the floor joycing installation stage to the next stage of installing roof trusses (roof trusses are individually prefabricated and are positioned into place by teleporter).
I hope that you can give me some of your experience and knowledge here.
Thanks and regards

Posted By JPK Hi Mick,
I am currently in the middle of an project very similar to the one you are describing.
The Method we are using (very brief) is to, create using Tressels and guard rails a working platform to install the joists. This method was only selected over, the construction of a new temporary 'raised' floor being built internally, due to an engineers assessment of the joists we proposed to contruct it on.
The joists will then floored out (Ply sheeted fixed to joists), within the proposed roof space, with an allowance for the base of the trusses made as per drawings.
