Does he have any other qualifications that may be considered as entry to the "grad" level?
Have you asked IOSH why you are "Tech"?
When did you get the dip1?
Any other experience?
I thought only recently aquired dip2 were acceptable........not withstanding level 6 etc?
More info...
Speak to IOSH.
I was tech for ages, until I actually told iosh that I had diploma, then they asked me for more money and hey ho....grad!

Posted By P.R I would be surprised if he was GradIOSH with just a NNGC! Does he have any other relevant qualifications?

Posted By Descarte From memory, a NEBOSH Gen Cert would only get you affilated. Dip 1 would be tech, dip 2 before nov last year would be miosh (Auto CMIOSH no CPD no questions asked before nov last year), now dip 2 is grad iosh + 2years cpd is required before CMIOSH.
Though Im sure there is better and more accurate info on the membership section of the site

Posted By Hazel Harvey All, The Technician Membership category of IOSH is based on the level 3 national occupational standards (NOS) in health and safety at work, whilst the Graduate Membership category is based on the level 4 NOS in Occupational Health and Safety. The qualifications that underpin these standards are accredited by IOSH as meeting the academic requirements for the appropriate category. Bearing this in mind the Graduate Membership is therefore at a higher academic level than the Technician category. A person holding an NGC (level3) alone is eligible for Technician Membership not Graduate Membership. It may be that your colleague has a higher level qualification or that a mistake has been made during the processing of his application. If the latter is the case this will normally be picked up in auditing and the membership category adjusted. In addition to the level 3 NGC (which has to have been obtained since December 2002) a person will also need to demonstrate 5 years experience in a H&S role for Technician Membership.
