Posted By Stanley Ikeh Hello all During the course of my work site inspections and observations, I walked into a workers who made no show of his problem explaining as much as possible the heat from his welding activities. He was working on a 36 inch pipes using a submerge arc welding automatic machine. His problem was that the heat is too unbearable. My findings after lots of questions and interviews I personally carried out with others, I discovered all of their view of the problem is the same. This welding process is done in an open environment[open vent] My question is, is there any way they could rotate the workers with an short exposure limit [SEL] of one and 1/2 hours for two welders so as to minimize the risk of health related problem through long hours worker's exposure. I appreciate any contribution. stanleyikeh@yahoo.com. Thanks.
