Does anyone have or know where I can get a copy of a risk assessment for the use of High Pressure Drain Jetting machines. I have started one but need to make sure all aspects are covered. Thanks.

there is also a risk from bacterial infection from the water being used if the operative suffers a high pressure injection.
i was unfortunate enough to suffer from this type of injury a few years ago when a UHP lance failed and i was shot in the forearm with a high pressure water jet whilst undertaking some hydro-demolition works on a bridge, it went something like this;
absolute agony upon being hit by the high pressure water (22,000 p.s.i. being delivered at 20 litres per minute),
passing out in the ambulance on the way to casualty,
3 operations within 5 days,
the fear that i may in fact have to have my arm amputated at the elbow,
6 days on an anti-biotic drip,
8 days in hospital,
6 months of physiotherapy,
permanent disability and loss of power and function to the affected arm,
loss of feeling in thumb and fore finger,
still affected to this day every day,
and i got off lucky!
and all of this happened 4 weeks before christmas!
dont forget other hazards such as confined space entry, heat exhaustion, weils disease etc.
type in a google search for high pressure injection injuries for some further information.
