Hi,
Would anyone have any info regarding H&S issues/regs/leg etc when looking at fitting in vehicle PC's? These PC's are not designed to be used when the vehicle is in motion, just to use to obtain work instructions.
I have considered looking at the location of the tablet and briefly discussed having some kind of connection so that when the engine is switched on, it turns off the PC so it cant be used when driving - but i cant seem to find any official info.
I would be grateful for anyone's comments.
Thank you,
Linda

In a past employment I remember us sourcing purpose designed brackets for these items - unfortunately I can't remember the supplier but I think there were a few out there.
Alos I'm sure they have been exhibited at one of the H&S expos

I think some vehicles within docks operate with screens which send them messages whilst they are working.
Not the public highway but might be worth seeing if there is anything in the Dock Regs on screens / PC's etc?

I know its not much help but I know that British Gas / Transco fell foul of the unions a couple of years back over this matter.
The main problem was having to twist the back whilst operating the notebook which laid on the passengers seat.
Sadly I cant recall how they got over this but I think it was a bracket of sorts. I hope you find what you are looking for
