Posted By david wark Hello all, I have recently been looking into the use of trestles by builders undetaking plastering and brickwork, in relation to the new WAH legislation. A risk based approach e.g. ground conditions height to be worked at etc. all being considered. The question is about guard rails to prevent falls and do they need them. My thoughts are yes, but in some circumstances may appear a bit over the top. I cannot find any guidance on this subject in relation to the new legislation. Any comments. Davie

Posted By FJ You mention WAH- surely under this if you identify a (significant) risk from falling then you are duty bound to consider controls to prevent this/reduce the risk- that is in the regs. Or have I missed something?

Posted By Lee Mac Yes, from the WAHR you will have to protect the operatives from the risk of falling. There are quite a number of companies out there now offering edge protection for the use of trestles. I will email you direct with a link of a supplier. Liam
