Posted By Michael I Mackay One facility I am responsible for will in the new year need to move material between two sites. This will require them to use a FLT on the public highway for about 300m. Do we need to retrofit the FLT's with side lights, headlights, indicators etc? Can anyone point me in the right direction for finding this information out?

Posted By Dave Sparrow I encountered this problem recently aafter one of our site forklifts was involved in a collision with a car on the highway - the forklift was actually waiting to enter the road but his forks were protruding into the road(!)and his total expected journey was about 20m. Requirements for vehicle adaptations and fuel restrictions are clear but have you checked out your Company's insurance requirements? It may not fit 100% with the H&S and RTA rameworks.
