Posted By rks I mean signage, lighting and guarding. I was after pictures not lessons on acronyms.

The really hard problem is to find pictures of WELL SET OUT road works.
I can only really remeber two in the last 5 years that i have seen. Even motorway layouts have faults almost universally, starting at my favourite of flashing orange beacons in a 50 mph reduction area. Great at night when it is raining and you have moderate traffic in front.

Posted By Brian John Abbs RKS Let me have your email address and I'll send a few good and bad examples.
Bob Aren't flashing amber beacons in tapers approaching 50Mph works a requirement of the revised chapter 8?

Posted By Brian John Abbs RKS Your welcome.
I hope they are of use to you.
It's a shame that IOSH can't put up a board for members to openly share this sort of stuff.

Posted By RP Sequentially flashing road danger lamps are a requirement as of Jan 2007. But not a legal requirement, it would be for the client to request them to be used. Remember Chapter 8 is guidance only, but reflect a legal requirement if the words 'must' or 'shall' are used...

No they should be steady amber in a 50 mph area - contrary to many beliefs.
