Posted By Robert K Lewis Mitch With the background of your company I am uncertain as to why you are asking the question. Unless you are going to undertake a factory premises extension and undertake the PC role then you will have no need to prepare one. You may need to respond to one from the PC and the formats for these vary considerably often depending on the form of contract and other issues. They also reflect the very personal approaches a company takes to describing its management plans for its project work. The HSE guidance and the acops describe clearly the contents but the structure is open to company preferences. Whilst I am active in encouraging people to enter construction H&S I am mindful that you need to start small. Preparing an H&S plan is not the place to start without proper support. Bob

Posted By Martyn Hendrie Mitch, Appendix 3 of the existing CDM Approved Code of Practice (HSG 224) gives a list of headings that should be addressed in both the pre-construction and construction phase H&S Plans. Available from HSE books for £9.50

Posted By Mitch Bob, It is for a factory extension, I have responsibility for H&S and just want to assess competancy of contractor appointed (without any reference to myself). I have received a very thorough template now which will allow me to do this, though it may ask more questions than it answers, I maybe back!! Regards Mitch
