I quote from the HSE Website CDM section "To give construction and design professionals time to plan and prepare for the regulatory changes, the ACoP will be available in January 2007, three months before the Regulations come into force."
However, I can't find this document on the HSE books website (mind you, finding anything on the HSE books site is hard unless you know EXACTLY which search terms to use).
So when, precisely, will the ACOP be available? Every day and week that goes past make a mockery of the "three months" claim made by HSE!
Does anyone know? (Also what is the ISBN number?)

Even on the 31st January the target will be met. I believe it will, according to the final HSC approved document be called Managing Health and Safety in Construction, but we all wait with bated breath!!

Just heard that there is a delay and no one seems to know if it is the editing or printing.
Gary your comments may then be very true. If it is the case and it is prolonged we may see the departure of a very short served chief inspector of construction!!

I have just spoken to HSE books (4.50pm on 04/01/07) who state that the ACoP may not be available for at least 1 month. No comments about assessing competence please.

I have had a similar response from HSE Books, so it looks like the HSE's quoted 3 month period for those in the industry to get familiar with the ACOP before regs go live will soon become 2 months or will it be 4 weeks, or 3 days, or ???????
Still who really expected the HSE to keep to its own timetable!!

I managed to get a sniff of information that the minister will be receiving them shortly and should approve the documents by end January. The April 6th date for the regulations apparently still stands. I can find no written confirmation of this however

I can't see the HSE changing the April date given their current policy of attempting to only introduce new legislation in April and October (with a few exceptions!).
So if the Minister approves by the end of the month, I assume that they then need to print and distribute the ACOP's which I guess could take another 4-6 weeks?
Not looking good really is it!

ACOP will be out sometime in February, probably late Feb.

ACOP printed?? Its not even been signed off yet.
I will repeat my posting from yesterday on the CDM thread.
Please read the following quote from Andrew East (HSE) on the HSE CDM Disussion Forum
"The regulatory package is with the Minister for signing.
Subject to his agreement we are still on schedule for 6 April launch.
Once signed the ACOP will be printed.
I plan to put the final drafts of the Regs and ACOP submitted to the
Minister on this site tomorrow.
We have not considered delaying the package as work on it's development is
complete ."
Hope this helps but note the comment "subject to his agreement"
