I have decided to re-do the health and safety induction in my premises, as tbh the one in place is no good and to short. I want to make the new one at least 2-3 hours long, so as to give across all the neccessary information, meet the new staff so they know not to be afraid to come to me with any problems and so the new employee knows that health and safety is taken seriously and as a priority.
I have a checklist of what I want to do, but has anyone got anything generic to work off and to save me some time as im tight with time, but still want to make the induction as detailed as possible.
Thanks,
Anders

3 hours .......they will be asleep and stop listening after much more than 1 hour....which is more than enough time for a H&S Induction.

At one petroleum site the induction lasted a whole morning. However, it was very interactive, being broken down into several short presentations with active participative workshops after each to test understanding and retention.
One problem I have encountered with inductions is the variability in knowledge/experience of participants and the level/type of induction needed. A PhD chemist who will be working in the laboratory, handling toxic chemicals may need a different level of induction to a basic operator or an office worker. So it may make sense to make the induction programme modular. You can then adapt the level and type of induction to suit the participants merely by selecting the relevant modules.

Good idea chris and will be taken onboard. When i said 3 hours, i meant 3 broken hours over the first day. I'd bore myself to death talking health and safety for 3 hours!!
So is anyone willing to pass on some places I could get induction material??

I agree with GSP. Please make it an hour and no longer.
