Ototoxins - Chemicals that cause hearing loss

Good New Happy Chrimble etc,
I have just been reading in an environmental publication about the effect of chemicals referred to as Ototoxins which can in some cases cause severe hearing loss due to chemical exposure. The US "NIOSH" web site has info on this but I have not encountered this hazard before. I imagine it would be a COSHH issue but is the hearing loss recorded on an MSDS? (Ototoxins include toluene, xylene's, styrene's etc.)
What do you think/know?

Cigarette / cigar smoke also contains chemicals that affects hearing - another reason to ban it!!

I've never seen ototoxicity referred to on an MSDS; none of the risk phrases refer explicitly to hearing damage.

Ototoxic substances are specifically mentioned in the Noise at Work regulations 2005 (SI 1643) at reg 5(3)(c).
Finding lists of such substances is currently not very easy, but it includes a great many medications (including aspirin).
