Posted By Scott d Hi All,
I need to put a business case together for starting my diploma and the course starts in the next couple of weeks, so I have to do this quickly!!!!
If anyone has done this in the past or has any ideas, it would be much appreciated!
Many Thanks,
Scott

Posted By MAK Hi Scott,
Despite having to do this several times, I can find none of my previous drafts!
what you need to do though is sell it to the business purse holder and him who makes the decision to invest in you.
You have to: 1. list the benefits to the company which will manifest after you complete the course, i.e enable you to take more responsibility and duties on, enable you to become more competent and present clients/customers with an improved professional representative for the business, become more of a team player, support your managers, lead to an improvement in current knowledge base, bring back new ideas and stimulate creative solutions etc etc
2. list the personal benefits but dont focus on this more than item 1.
3. play the cost of your chosen course down against alternatives
Hope this helps to get you started
P.s be careful of training agreements, where the company will benevolently invest in you but you will unofficially incur a neglible increase in salary for the duration of your course or you must stay with the company for an agreed period period of time or pay the whole amount back.

Posted By Tabs Remember also that you will be building a network of similar minded people who will hopefully continue to be available to consult with beyond the study period.
I don't know your current eduction achievements, but is this is the highest you have looked at so far, it is probable that the course will also improve your reporting, analysis, and communication skills.
It will take you beyond reading law and into considering law - a skill that is expensive if you have to go to a lawyer for it.
It is also my experience that the better qualified a person becomes, the more pragmatic they become too.
