I have been informed by a French owned multinational company that in France there is a stated legal limit weight of supplying products that may be manually handled of 25kg.
I would be obliged if anyone could direct me to the relavant legislation.

I have never heard of this. If it is true, how do they deliver white goods to domestic dwellings? 6 foot (sorry, 1.85 metres) tall freezers/fridges weigh a fair bit more than 25kg along with sofa's & dining tables.

The 25Kg limit is correct. It used to just apply to women and young persons. Tough guys were able to get a medical certificate allowing them to carry up to 100Kg.

Now it's the same for everyone.

I'm out of the office at the moment but I can get you the reference tomorrow.

And delivering a washing machine is done by sliding it out of the van on to a trolley and wheeling it in.

We had an Aga delivered a year ago by a senior operative and a younger operative. It took over two hours to get it from the rear of the lorry to the kitchen via two sets of steps, and a restricted hallway. And they did it without a trolley or any significant lifting using a set of different size rollers and different thicknesses of wood.

A joy to see two professionals in action.
