Hi all,

It always amuses me when somebody asks for information or a presentation on a certain subject and when a favourable reply is received lots of others ask for the same information. (See COSHH Power point for example).

I have done it myself of course so I'm not being critical of anyone at all. I have shared and received!

I just wonder if any of you clever people out there, IOSH in particular, could come up with a place where anyone who has something to share can deposit the information, in whatever format, and it then becomes a library for us not so clever members to access and take out whatever we need, free of charge? This would save those sharing information time in as much as they only have to send the information once and don't get pestered.

There is so much sharing going on that I really think the idea would work.

There is already a site which offers that service:

http://www.ndex.org

Just send them your presentations etc and they will list them.

Thanks for the ndex link but I am a bit reluctant to put my stuff out in the open just like that. Anyone could nick it without trace.

On this site I occasionally offer documents or info but ask people to e-mail me directly. I don't respond to the "me too please" pleas.

Each "copy" I send has some minor modification. Should I ever find my stuff on sale I can trace it right back to the source.

And sue.

Perhaps, then, posters from here could create a closed Yahoo! Group, with members by invitation only, and all files could be deposited there.

Thanks MT somewhere close to what I had in mind. That other site is not very good, lots of irrelevent US stuff.

We need somebody to do the necessary work to get things going.

Any offers?
