Posted By Malcolm Greenhouse I have been asked to write a board paper on choices we have re Asbestos Management within the Housing Association for which I work. I am pointing out that all employees likely to come into contact with asbestos will need asbestos awareness training. I am also pointing out that if we decide to deal with non licensed asbestos in house we will need to train those staff up to a higher level of competences as detail on page 34/35 of the ACOP. The economics of working on non-licensed asbestos ourselves will be compared with the cost of continuing to use competent contractors. To enable me to put some figures together I am looking for quotes for the following. Asbestos awareness training for 100 trades people. I want a price for in house courses and for courses run elsewhere to pick up new entries and people who fail to attend. Asbestos Training to enable people to work on non licensed asbestos, course to follow syllabus as laid out on page 35 of ACOP.It is anticipated that this will have to be done off site as practical elements will be required.
