Posted By J Knight Would a brolly be allowed? I mean, I would personally rather ban smoking than not, but on a realistic and pragmatic view we are trying to accommodate our smokers as best we can; we are a reasonably caring employer. This whole smoking thing is making life difficult for us, and the difference in Welsh, English and Scottish regs really doesn't help. Oh well, there you go, or indeed, as the newly late and sorely missed Kurt Vonnegut would have said, 'So it goes', John

Posted By Alan Hoskins There isn't anything in the legislation, but they should be far enough away to prevent smoke re-entering the building through doorways, windows or air intakes, etc. We have set a nominal 5 metre exclusion zone. It's up to your company to set these local policies I suggest. Alan
